Steve Garnett
Steve trained originally in London (St Bartholomew’s Hospital) and went on to specialist training in Bristol, Edinburgh and Oxford. He was appointed Consultant Urologist in Eastbourne and Hastings in 2008. He has a long track record of innovation and leading improvements for prostate cancer patients. He became the cancer lead for East Sussex Urology in 2009 and has been the clinical lead for urology in East Sussex since 2012. He helped to introduce the Da Vinci Robot, enabling robotic surgery in Sussex. In 2015, he performed the first robotic prostatectomy in Sussex. He also introduced Green Light Laser Surgery into East Sussex and the UroLift Procedure. He introduced trans-perineal template biopsies into East Sussex and has just overseen the introduction of MRI fusion biopsies. He has written both the East Sussex prostate cancer patient pathway and also the East Sussex lower urinary tract symptom pathway.
Steve is passionate about improving prostate care in Sussex & helping patients choose individualised treatments that suit them.
